Title: Which Quiver on a Toelke Chinook?
Post by: BijanO on November 02, 2017, 09:33:00 AM
Hi all,

I'll be receiving my Chinooks (TD and One Piece) soon and was wondering which quiver you'd recommend for them.  I'd like one that I can use for multiple reasons (training, hunting etc).

I'm looking at the Eagles Flight quivers as they're NC locals but was concerned that given the Chinooks I'm getting are 58", an on bow quiver might not be optimal (29" and 32" arrows)

Appreciate your thoughts and advice.

I would highly recommend a strap-on Selway.  I have the 4 arrow model on my Chinook and it is light weight, easy to remove if necessary and is rock solid.

Hope this helps.

I use a Big Jims strap-on 5 arrow quiver on my one piece Chinook and it works great.

I use great northern adjustable strap on quivers for all my Toelke bows. I have tried other ones, but I seem to prefer the balance that the great northern quivers provide.

Great Northern hands down. Get the Kickback model. I've tried a few quivers on all my Toelke, and others and I find the GN to be the best no question. One thing I cannot stand is for the top and bottom to be seperate as with the slide on quivers. That and you have to unstring the bow to remove them as well as the two seperate pieces can be prone to shifting away from each other. This is a big inconvenience if you decide to remove the quiver when you get to your blind. Just my opinion though since you are asking for opinions. Up to you ultimately.

Thunderhorn Boa strap on quivers are just the right size and if you need bigger they make that too!

Thunderhorn Lynx rides on all my bows and have been on a bunch of chinooks.

Definitely a strap on, I have a Kanati that I use whenever I want a bow mounted quiver, which is seldom these days.

On a side note, I have the regular GN model quiver. I took it apart and SLOWLY bent the wires, it is now a "kickback" style and balances the bow much better.

I use a GN on both my Chinook and Whip.  I like the kickback, too.

If you want something lighter and not bulky that sits as close to the centerline of the bow as possible I would look at Eagles flight.I like Great Northern as well.Other ones are too heavy and too big and bulky for me.

Thank you everyone.  I went with an Eagle's Flight. I was driving through Mebane, NC and thought I had to see if I could stop in.  Walked away from a strap on quiver and an armguard.

Great folks to deal with and it won't be my last purchase from them.

Cheers
