Well, I finally broke the ice after 3 years of switching from compound to recurve.
I was out yesterday afternoon hunting from the ground, wearing a leafy suit. I was on a very steep ridge and halfway down the ridge is a flat spot wide enough for an ATV trail. I was sitting below the ATV trail.
About 45 minutes before dark I see a grey fox cruising down the hill to my right. He stopped on the ATV trail to look things over and I lip squeaked at him.
He turned and walked my way, stopping at 10 yds. He was standing in some ferns and blackberry brambles, but I saw enough of him to take a shot.
THWACK and a yelp and he took off down the trail. I gave it about 20 minutes and took up the blood trail and after about 50 yds I found my trophy.
1st blood for my Bob Lee bow "The Natural" model. Wooden arrows tipped w/ a Zwickey Eskilite broadhead.

Congrats! Not many people can say their first trad kill is a grey fox!
Very cool. Did you save the hide for a quiver?
Congrats, Hope you get the pics worked out!
Very cool, congratulations that's a great way to start off your Trad harvest's. The first one is always the hardest. If you can take a grey fox a deer shouldn't be a problem.
awesome!!!! that's a hunt you will remember forever
Congrats
Well done sir , will be a trophy to remember..

Congrats!
I did save the hide. Not sure if it will be hung on the wall, made into a quiver, or made into a hat.
Not sure how to post a pic.

Awesome! I have been predator calling quite a bit up in AK and have never connected. People look at me like im crazy for hunting predators with a longbow. You made it happen for your first animal! Way to go! Send me your pic and I will post it for you!

That's an amazing first trophy!
I would get it tanned or use it to make a back quiver or something.
I have some furs tanned and I enjoy having them.
