Just received my new Bolo Chopper from James Helm of Helm Enterprises. James is a former winner on the "Forged In Fire" TV program and resides near San Antonio TX. www.helmforge.com (http://www.helmforge.com)
You might wonder why I'd want such a big knife. First because I like knives of all sizes and also it'll come in handy for making natural blinds like I use to do many years ago. At 81 years old I've decided to stay out of the trees and just hunt from the ground. Sounds like a good excuse to get a new blade right?
sorry about the poor quality of the cell phone selfie

nice big hunk of steel !
wonder why they never gave out arrowheads as a challenge in the "Forged in fire" series.
That's a beast of a knife! I bet it came w a sheath that's just as nice!
Tim B
It came with a Kydex sheath like this one. I'm thinking a leather sheath down the road.

The leather sheath would fit you a bit better! You could probably do a leather wrap and change the nylon strap and add some leather fringe and it would look perfect

Awesome blade!! What's the handle material?
Also, I agree that that knife screams for a leather sheath... just my two cents.
Randy
Great looking knife. I like a rough looking blade like that with the hammer marks. That's just my style.
Yes, a leather sheath built around the Kydex. Added safety with Mountain Man good looks. >>>----> Ken
I was expecting the chopper you ride, my bad
James's wrap's the handle, then a tight para cord over that, then epoxy over that. Very hard and gives it a good non slip grip surface. My knife is the 2nd one down getting ready for the epoxy finish.

Hell of a knife Ron
"that's not a knife. this is a knife"
Yes Sir Ron, thats a good amount of blade, should be just enough!
That oughta get the job done, for sure.
Nice ! I agree with the comment that a leather sheath matches you ( and the knife) better. Pix when you get one ?
Now that's a knife
Don't fall asleep with that in your hand.
Looking good!
Heck with the knife, I want one of those moose antler hats.
Who says you can't bring a KNIFE to a gun fight ... go get'm Ron
I've been watching Helm's work for a number of years on another forum. He has a unique style to his pieces that really works well and he's absolutely passionate about what he does. You can't go wrong with his stuff.

I had a chance to take the knife with me when I went hunting this last weekend. The woods was ablaze in Autumn splendor

The blade sliced through limbs like a knife through cheese. I gave it a name, "Ol' Separator"

My oh my........that's a big one.
