Title: Jim Johnson...Lengend Longbows?
Post by: KyStickbow on September 24, 2017, 02:42:00 PM
Interested in hearing any info on Jim Johnson and his Legend Bows. I do know that he quit making bows many years ago...but I found one that is in prestine condition. A google search didn't help with much info about them...so any help is appreciated!

How they shoot? Are they quiet...etc?

Pics would be fantastic as well! You can pm me and I can have you email or text them to me...i know posting pics is kinda a hassle right now.

Thanks

My buddy Craig (monkeyball over on ***********) has one. Really pretty bow. He could probably give you some feedback.

I had a 64" longbow. Was 56# I think. Cocobolo riser and red elm limbs. Was a fantastic bow !!

I had one in the 90's.
Mild reflex/deflex bow.
Good workmanship.
Did have to much feedback for my bow shoulder.

I owned one about 10 yrs ago, very nice bows, easy pointing and good speed.. even got Jims number and called and talked to him for about a half hr. if I remember correctly..It was a 60# bow got to where my shoulders couldn't handle the weight anymore and sold it..mine didn't have any hand shock at all, if I remember correctly was shooting it with a 12 strand MM D-97 string.

Great bows. I had one built in April 1996. It is osage with carbon core and a rosewood riser. It is 57#@28. I gave it to my son, but he is living out of state now and has left it with me for the time being. I may just shoot it tonight.
