I've been baiting bears for a few weeks now in preparation for my upcoming hunt with my recurve bow. Bears have been hitting the buffet spread of cookies, popcorn, windfall apples and pastry frosting. I set up a couple of trail cams to monitor what is hitting the baits and when. Hope to have a story to share in the Winter 2017 issue of TradArchers' World magazine.

Boy ,Those are some toads! Good luck with your hunt.
Where at?
You'll get one. I fully expect a call to help drag!
Good Luck Tom, we have been seeing some good bears on camera just south of you!
Good luck Tom!!!
It looks like you are going to have some fun and excitement, Tom.
Good luck.
I am glad SOMEONE is getting bear to come in to their bait site. I had two bear come in to deer feed before legal bear baiting season. Haven't seen a bear on camera since...
Hunting begins Monday.
Good luck!
Jeremy
Very nice, Good luck!
Nice bears Tom and good luck! My son has 40 acres north of Rhinelander. His neighbor is baiting and has 5 different bears coming in!
You've got some history with that bait site, Tom. Good luck!
Yes, Gary, one site has quite a history, while the other new one is near my house in the county forest. Both have pretty nice bears visiting throughout the day.
Good luck Tom. I hope you get one of those that gave me and Bryan the slip.
Good luck, Tom! Those are good looking bears.
My son and I will be baiting next week for our U.P of Michigan hunt. Have a time of it finding sweats to bait with. Michigan banned chocolate this year.
Always a good feeling seeing em show up with shooting light left! Couple no-doubters in that bunch as well, I'd say you're in for a good sit here shortly.
Checked camera on public land site. Showed a couple of small bears and a good one, too. Time stamp is 12 hours off.

Best of luck Tom. Hope you get a dandy.
Less than a week and a half until I can begin my bear hunt. I have some nice bears showing up in daylight at both of my bait sites. One site is in a nasty, soggy spruce swamp and I am considering using a game tracker, as blood trailing there might be tough. Any thoughts?

Ive been down a whole pile of bear blood trails. Id have a string tracker on anytime I was hunting them from a treestand. Down here in the ga mtns, I do all my bear hunting on foot so its not really possible but Id definitely use one if I were you. Ive seen perfectly double lunged bears leave zero blood lots of times. Big ones especially
