Wondering if any of our southern Ohio hill country boys can fill me in on the state of the acorn mast?
Things were pretty barren last year, hoping it's shaping up better this year.
Thanks, Dave
It seems to be sparse. Hickory nuts are loaded. Have not checked the beach trees. From what I have seen acorns maybe in one little hollow and all the other oaks are bare. Persimmon trees didn't grow much fruit either. Then again it just maybe were I was looking.
I've got about the same results here. I've noticed Reds are doing a little better than whites in my area. I prefer them to be spotty. Makes the deer move a little more. Apples, pears and crab apples out the wazoo though.

X2 all the fruit trees are loaded!!! Just waiting to see which ones are still holding fruit come season.
Spotty is best! Pumps me up to see the two responses above!
Sparse at my place, too. A few oaks and persimmons are producing, but many others are not. Maybe I'll hunt the tractor stand... One of the producing oaks is right beside where I park it, not even close to any of my stands.
