For wood arrows.
Can someone tell me the mixture ratio for minwax and I think acetone?
I have done a couple of searches, but did not find it.

Are you trying to thin it? No reason to use acetone other that. What minwax product?
Using minwax clear gloss, wanting to thin it.
I use the minwax wipe on satin poly....thin and absorbs good in the wood. I usually do a good coating and put shafts in my 4x4 block with shallow holes to hold the shaft tips. Let it dry overnight...light rub with ScothBrite pad next morning and coat again and leave to dry all day. 3-4 coats is usually enough and by the 4th have a decent shine and surface to protect wood. Lot easier than dip tubes for me anyhow.
Yes to the wipe on poly. But if your going to dip I believe you need mineral sprits not Acetone. I had a "experience " trying to dip full strength years ago. Wow, was it thick to say the least. If you was me after what I tried I would go 75/25 for at least a test run.

Okay, I will use mineral spirits.
I use the Minwax clear finish all the time and have never thinned it. I use a dip tube, dip it and let it hang. Next day I steel wool it and dip again. Sometimes a third coat but not always.
X2 as dnovo. Works great. 3 coats then crest, spray poly lightly after cresting then dip the whole shaft again. The main thing is letting dry sufficiently between steps.
It dos "dry" depending on the weather fairly quick. But as I learned in a finishing class it can take up to a month to cure. Maybe that's why I had issues with stuff from targets and 3D's sticking to it? Reason I stopped using it and Gasket Laq. as well.
50/50 low odor mineral spirits and oil based poly gloss here. Dries quick. In about 6 hours you can dip again.
I dip once. Let dry. Dip again. Let dry. 0000 steel wool rubdown on shaft. Check straightness and adjust if needed. Dip a 3rd time and let it dry completely. I can dip once in the morn. Once that evening. Then the next morn a steel wool scrub and 3rd dip. Then glue everything up by that evening.
Humidity does play a factor in dry time. The higher the humidity is, the longer the dry time. I just stepped away from finishing arrows that started yesterday morning as raw shafts. Literally. No target burn with the 50/50 that I have seen. It's a tough finish.
