I get alot of questions about my pacseat! let people sit in it and they are wondering where to get one. I use it as much out on the boat, daughters sports events as I do hunting.

This is by far the best seat for hunting or even for picnics that I've ever used, whether a seat of my own design or one that I bought...and believe me I've purchased more than a few over the years but none since I got my Pac-seat.

Thank you Dave for a great product and supporting our site.

God bless,Mudd

I use mine more every year. So comfy I take naps on a regular basis.
I added a small wool pack and have a knife and a water bottle strapped on too. If I wasn't so fat and lazy, I could stay out all day.

I had the original but had some severe back problems and sold it.
Talked with David and he said the new design has the seat 1 1/2" higher and it makes a world of difference.
Checks in the mail.

Put one on order today. I have always liked the design, comfy and versatile. No more portable stands for this aging guy. A big plus for me is, it will come into use in the off season ice fishing in my fish house.

I am really wanting a PacSeat. I have a Millenium now and really like the comfort of it. Does anyone have both these seats, or have used both and could give a comparison?

The PacSeat seems like it would be more versatile as far as carrying gear with it. I have a Ghost blind that looks like it would staple to the PacSeat well.

I have used mine so much for hunting, fishing, camping, and sitting on around our fire pit i wore the paint off from concrete surfaces. I stripped mine and refinished it in tan truck bed liner with black hardware. It looks awesome as well as comfortable. BEST CHAIR EVER OWNED.

Here,s my take on this.   I have never used one but looking at his videos and listening to other hunters who do own the seat convinced me to purchase one. Tree or no tree you can use this seat, that's one of the major benefits to this seat. Being comfortable is key in staying longer in the hunt with less movement to alert game.

The thing I love about the PacSeat is when I am packing it, it's almost like I am carrying nothing (if I don't have anything attached to it). I think David said it weighs in at about 4lbs.

I also like the waist strap. It helps distribute some of the weight to my waist/legs instead of all of it being on my upper back.

So, comfort going to and from my hunting location is as important to me as while I am there. If I have to struggle to get my gear to my hunting spot, I'm less likely to go where I truly want to go.

Disclaimer: I hadn't heard of the PacSeat until we met David through his Trad Gang sponsorship. We built his website for him. However, having him as a client has had little to no weight on how I feel about the product. I truly feel his product is excellent. David is also an outstanding person to work with. I recommend him and the PacSeat!

Got my pac seat today.
Right out of the box it is ready to use.
David said the 1 1/2 inches he raised the seat would make all the difference with my back.
Well I had just taken a shower to get the bugs off after stressing my old back picking black berries.
Opened the box pulled out the seat part and sat down.
He is right, love it.
He even threw in the tennis balls for soft ground.

My only mod will be a couple of short plastic horns on eack corner. Then my back pack will hang there and be removed
easily.

I have three of David's pack seats up in Alaska where we use them every year in moose camp.  It's hands down the best lightweight seat I've found.  I give the pack seat a five star rating.

My seat came in the mail a couple days ago. I'm happy to be done with those squeaky cheap seats that break. I'll put some miles on this baby before its all over.
I have to say to, as is the case with alot of our trad gear, it feel real nice to buy a quality piece of gear made by a great guy that I could pick up the phone and call or sit by the campfire and visit with. Made in the USA!

Brian P.
You asked for opinions from someone who has both a Millenium swivel seat and a Pacseat.  I do.  So here's my thoughts.  Both seats are excellent but have different strong points and features.  Here are some examples.

The Pacseat is the lightest and easiest to carry.  It can be used as a pack frame to carry stuff, like winter outer clothes in and out of the woods.  No assembly when you get to your ground blind.

The Millenium has a silent swivel feature that makes it easy to check a 360 degree circle with little body movement.  I find I'm frequently on the wrong side of a tree to see an approaching deer.  It is the most comfortable for me with excellent back support.  The adjustable legs allow it to more easily handle sloping ground.  I seldom find level ground in the Ohio hills I hunt.  But it is heavier.  I put two shoulder straps on mine so I can carry as a back pack.  In this mode I can strap other things to it, like outer garments, but not as easily as the Pacseat.

If I'm confident in a spot and going to put in a lot of hours, I use the Millenium.  If I'm going to roam a bit in search of a spot, I take the Pacseat since it's easier to move and no disassembly/assembly required to make the move.

Hope this helps.

Nice review George. One tip from my perspective along the lines of using the pack seat against a tree. I use the straps to tie the pacseat off to the tree and then I can spin on the seat fairly quiet in my wool pants. Not the same as a Millenium or Huntmore, but very doable.

Thanks for the review of both seats. Those were kinda my thoughts, but it is nice to hear  from someone with experience with both seats.
I will be ordering a PacSeat soon. I am sure.

I have both and they don't compare.  The Waldrop is easier to carry, can be used as a pack frame, sets up easier and in more places, can be leaned forward in on just the front legs, can be used in a blind without a tree to attach to and is more comfortable.  Need anymore reasons to get one?   :D

Hope they hurry up at work lol

I too have both of the Millenium chairs.  A tree mounted, non swivel model and the swiveling model. I have it set up with Molle frames and straps just like foxbo.
My only issue is it is difficult to carry a ghostblind strapped to them. The flatness of the paxseat looks like it is better suited for that task.
A guy cant have too many hunting chairs, can he?

I've been wanting a Waldrop seat for years, so I was glad to see that David is now making them as a commercial enterprise. I placed my order now to avoid the September rush.

After watching the videos and talking to David, you can tell that it's a well thought-out piece of equipment.  Hes been making and hunting out of them for years, so he's got all the bugs worked out.

I don't plan on giving up treestand hunting at all, but this gives me a way to hunt all those thickets I find that don't have any trees suitable for a stand. And those thickets seem to be where all the deer are! Just gives me another tool in my arsenal.

The videos answered probably 95% of my questions, but David is a great guy to talk to and deal with!

I ordered immediately when I saw this thread and received my PacSeat yesterday. This morning as I  am typing this I am sitting in the seat, very comfortable, I can not think of a seat that would be more versatile as this one. It's got all the attributes, light, silent, adjustable to anyone, very comfy, adaptable to any condition trees or no trees, built for yrs of service, configurable for any use. I will be adding a essentials bag of some sort to the back of the frame, probably go with Davids Idea of a fanny pac that can be easily removed so I can go scouting/looking for new set-up spots or just walks in the woods.  Thanks David for a wonderful product.

I fold open the seat a little and put my Bison Gear 'man purse' down inside and then just use two little bungie cords to hold the seat tight against the frame.  I can always use the little bungie cords to tie up small branches at a makeshift blind spot if I'm on the go hunting. I'm not always as successful being on the ground, but it's certainly a lot of fun being able to set up on the go in a spot like Shrewhaven, where we get to camp and know nothing of the current years deer activity until we step foot in the woods.

Since he doesn't visit the forum much, I've been talking to David frequently about the overwhelmingly positive responses he is getting about his seat. We are truly amazed at all of the great feedback and compliments. Keep them coming! It definitely gives him the drive to keep producing.

I started target shooting from the PacSeat yesterday evening. There is just no comparison to any other seat I have hunted from. It's solid and doesn't get in the way of my 64" longbow at all. (I am not compensated in any way for the things I say about the PacSeat. I just really like it that much!)

If you are even slightly considering ordering a PacSeat, please go ahead and do so ASAP in order to beat the "September rush"!

Talked to David today and now have one on order myself. Been coming out of the trees the last couple of years and this will be yet another tool to assist that movement.

Liked the video of his guile suit weight reduction ideas as well! They can be heavy and quite hot during the hot October deer season weather.

I received my PacSeat a couple days ago and finally got a chance to open the box today.

Everyone said it was a really comfortable seat, but until I sat in one today I didn't know WHY.  The answer is BACK SUPPORT.  The way the seat is attached, your lower back is supported at all times. And the rest of your back is supported by the back support on the main frame.

In a treestand, your back is against the tree and you have to keep your back straight. Its like sitting in a straight back chair, which I can't do for long.

The back of the Pacseat is at an angle, so its more like sitting in a recliner.

Now I understand why folks say they can sit still in one for a long time and not have to move.  Very impressed!

After hearing so much about the seat I figured I had to order one. I actually received a phone call today from Dave telling me that my seat would be shipped out immediately. I was very impressed with all the good tips I received from Dave on how to use the seat effectively. He is a serious bow hunter that developed a product that works. That is very rare today. I'm glad I did not let this one slip by me.

Bought my first"Pacseat" in 2012. My second showed up a couple of weeks ago. The additional height on the new seat is a definite plus. Try it, you'll like it. Oh yea, almost forgot. I bought the second because of what Gene Wensel said in one of his books. I forget which one. "If you find something you really like, and use a lot, you had better buy a second. Cause if you wait tell you really need the second, the damn thing will no longer be available". Thank you Gene, and thank you David Waldrop for making such an outstanding product.
