Title: Shooting glove recommendations
Post by: Ari_Bonn on July 25, 2017, 12:56:00 AM
Need some help gents.

I need to find glove that works well for me so all recommendations are welcome.

Shoot in wet conditions a lot.

I really like Damascus/ OMP glove for string feel but after shooting several times in a week for long sessions the tendons in the groves get very sensitive/painful.

Also like the Howard Hill glove for heavy bows but after long sessions the glove is too narrow and hurts the tip/nail. Sometimes the nylon straps shift and wedge into the groves and gets painful at full draw. lack of string feel.

So I need something in between. Something thick enough to protect my fingers for 3-4 hour sessions but not too thick I can't feel the string.

Most my bows are 50#.  Interested in the big shot crossover and the bodnik speed glove, dura glove.

My favorite glove is the American Leathers Big Shot. I have heard a lot of good things about the crossover, but haven't tried one yet. Give John Turner a call at American Leathers, he will be more then happy to answer any questions you have.

Bear Paw Black Glove, Big Jim sells same thing branded for him too btw.  Cordura.  I hunt in FL and absolutely love it, wears great too.  No grooving.

X3- cross over Kangaroo. Have mine 2 years now. Has not stretched. Just enough "feel" for my 60# limbs. But I still get a good release with my 45# limbs. Straps use Velcro and mine wore out. John repaired it and added longer straps I requested. Great folks to deal with. John is recovering from surgery so may not be beside phone. But keep trying.

I have both the Krossover  (kangaroo) and the original Buffalo Big shot. Both are well built but I far prefer the Buffalo BigShot.

I have both a kangaroo and bison big shot. I prefer the bison. I'd trade my like new kangaroo for another large bison version.

I've been shooting a duraglove and just purchase a kangaroo crossover today. We'll see how it works for me.

I really believe the Krossover is the best glove AND tab ever made.  It isn't a tab of course, but it gives a better feel of the string like a tab and it is a glove.

Seriously.
