Does anybody have experience with the bishop single bevel broadheads that are machined from tool steel?

They resemble the helix ( I think that's the one) broadhead in shape.  I just looked at their website and it appears that they are discontinued, except for previous buyers.   I have no experience with these.

i own 1 600gr.
beautifully made
excellent steel
BUT hideously expensive
not the sort of head to use on thin skinned "average" game more suited for african big 5 stuff
the 315 gr.would be better but still ungodly expensive

Just curious! What arrow setup are you running for the 600 grain and what bow poundage / arrow speed you are getting?

I have a couple 100g heads that I mix in to my rotation for hunting (with my compound).  I took a doe with one earlier this year and it zipped through her, did a good amount of damage and was one of those hits where she didn't know she was hit.  She jumped, I'm guessing from the arrow passing through her and hitting the ground behind her, trotted about 25 yards, and then stood there looking around.  After about 15 seconds, she wobbled and fell over.

The arrow was burried about 8" in to the ground. When I pulled it out, the head was still perfect.  Straight as an arrow and razor sharp.

I will say that they also have excellent customer service.  When I was first testing these heads, I had a shot that deflected and hit a rock pretty hard.  There was a dent in the head.  I emailed bishop, told them what happened and sent them a picture and they had me send the head back and they sent me a new one.  No issues whatsoever.
