Just ordered some .they look like they will leave a great blood trail . The new ones are 180. Anybody have any game pics or results Useing them . Any black bear kills. Thanks
They'll definitely do the job. I've been using Wapitis and Brown Bears for quite a few years. Killed several deer with them. Will be using them for elk this year. For bear, I use a three or four blade head. Much less likely the hole will plug with fat and reduce the blood trail.
Good lookin heads I have always wanted some. Just need to do it!
I killed a nice PA buck with the protype whitetail head two years ago, I got pics but cant figure out this imgur app.nice wide head and scary sharp.
I shoot the Abowyer Wapiti head. Very good penetration and excellent blood trails.
Had my Wapiti heads since they were about half the price they are now. Wish I knew how many deer I have taken with the same heads. Lost one three seasons ago that passed through a doe and kept going somewhere. I practiced a few shots today with one of the other two getting ready for season. I have been totally satisfied with mine and still am! :)
Killed my last dear with a Bonehead. Have a bunch of Brown Bears on my arrows now. Their products are superb!
I believe them to be some of the finest heads one can buy. I too will be hunting with some this season.
Should be pretty durable with an edge that will roll not chip. That 1075 @ 54HRC is a pretty tough recipe for cutlery stuff.
Just for my own consumption, i may get ahold of some AEB-L (razorblade steel) or CPM S35VN in a thin grade just to see what i could come up with via simple stock removal. Doing the heat treat would be the challenge though Peters HT in PA could manage it easily.
Did they bring this head back??? I thought they discontinued them a few years ago and I bought some extra packs
Yes Terry. They just brought it back but a little lighter. 180 grains.
And they shave right out of the Package
