Title: 2017 Bear Camp video. Russell Outdoor Guides
Post by: Jerry Russell on July 06, 2017, 04:57:00 PM
Well I finally got around to processing the hundreds of pictures from our Bear Camp.  The video is a long one but I wanted each of our hunters to be included.

We had some fantastic hunters this time around and they certainly kept alive the tradition of awesome Tradganger folks in bear camp.

My blood tracking Hound Bear Dog was the star of the show and recovered several bears that would not have been found in that crazy thick and mountainous terrain.  He went as far as 800 yards on bears with no blood trails.  He is an incredibly powerful tool in our camp and has pulled off amazing tracks of up to 1.8 miles over the last 4 years.

We still have a couple openings for 2018 and will only take 10-12 hunters for the entire season.  I would love to fill it out with all Tradgang members as we already have several returning in 2018.

If you have interest, now is the time to call for  information or talk to any hunter that has ever hunted with us.  Our territory is MASSIVE and beautiful.  Our groups are small and you will have a great experience and get your chance at a great bear.

Get a cup of coffee and enjoy the video.

The video is awesome but it only scratches the surface of what it was like in camp. The hunting was great but sharing camp with all the folks was phenomenal. We've been on a lot of hunts and this one ranks at the top of the list. And the best part is the wife wants to go back! Russell Outdoor Guides is a class act 100%. Can't wait til next year!

6 Tradgang members are signed up for the hunt in 2018 so far.  This is going to be a great time.

Thanks for the kind words on the video and Bear Dog.  That  tracking hound  is a TREMENDOUS assist in bear camp.  Even with good shooting, the horribly thick forest with all those standing water marshes can make finding a bow shot bear very difficult.  Couple that with the occasional bear that is poorly hit that can travel a mile or more and you can certainly understand why having a highly trained blood dog in camp is so important.  Even following 1-3" of rain or 20 hours of elapsed time, this hound WILL find your bear, deer or hog.

He is a life saver in our camps for many hunters each year.

Well I think I have gotten my PM inbox cleaned up to accept new messages. It got a bit overloaded following this years bear camp. If anyone has sent a message and I missed it, please PM again or you can get my email and phone number from my website listed below.

We still have 3 or 4 spots left for 2018. We have small groups and will only have two hunt periods for 2018. Several Tradgang members are already signed up for this hunt. As always, it will be a ton of fun and we WILL put a bear (or 10) right in your lap.

Call, PM or email to talk.
