I was lucky enough to win the bow donated by Gregg for the auction this year. He emailed me the night of the auction to congratulate me. The next morning, he asked which model I was most interested in. I told him I was going back and forth between a couple different ones, so he gave me some insight to each one. I ended up going with the Helms Deep, as I wanted a compact hunting bow. He then asked if I knew what woods I wanted, which I didn't, so I gave him a description of the color scheme I liked. He told me that he would shoot me some options the next morning. I woke up the next morning to an inbox full of pictures of various veneers and riser options. Whew!! Tough decisions. We finally settled on some cool Karelian Birch, stained, and some Curly Maple for the riser, also stained. He then sent an email for approval of all the specs, as he fit this bow into his already busy schedule.
A few observations thus far, if you are looking for a bowyer that listens, responds, provides valuable input and timely suggestions, whose only goal is to provide you with the exact bow that you want, then Gregg of Java Man is who you want.
The stained veneers. (//%5Burl=http://s21.photobucket.com/user/Jarrod/media/image2_zps3hovg0rf.jpeg.html%5D%20%5Bimg%5Dhttp://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b274/Jarrod/image2_zps3hovg0rf.jpeg) [/IMG]

Wow.
Congratulations. Can't wait to see finished product
Ditto Gregg is a great guy and a VERY talented bowyer.
Gregg is among the very best hence the demand for his bows and the long wait time. He did a superb job on the 2014 St. Judes bow which I won and owned for a spell. I ended up 'entrusting' it to a fellow lefty TGer so that I could continue trying new bows. I may get it back at some point or have Gregg build something even more striking.
Using kudu overlays for the tips and riser.

A shot of the riser. Doesn't seem like this should turn into a sleek riser.

Man that sure is coming along nicely !!! :notworthy:
Gorgeous !! What specs did you order ?
Just beautifully done. Congrats.
Awesome! Almost done.
I ordered a 56" 43@28. Gregg missed weight though, it's actually 43.3. :bigsmyl: He certainly knows what he is doing.
Yes he does! I was going to get the Helms Deep, but wound up ordering the Elk Heart just in case I wound up somewhere without my stringer. I could live happily with either model and he worked the riser and veneers to give me exactly what I was looking for. Great bowyer and nice guy to boot :clapper:
Gregg is a top notch guy who does amazing work, you will be very pleased with your bow I bet!
Shipping today. I'll let Jarrod post pics.
Thanks Jarrod for helping out the kids!!
Gregg
:campfire:
Nice........
I love it! Any more pics?
Can't wait to see it!

Congrats. A beauty very generous of both of you
Very fine ... and with all that St Jude mojo :jumper: :jumper:
Thank you to the donor and the winner for helping the Kids of St Jude
Beautiful..........
Superb! Is that a bow bolt style take down?
WOW!!
WOW WOW WOW!
Yes, it has the bow bolt system. I received the bow today and got a chance to shoot it a little bit, very sweet shooting bow, quick and quiet. Gregg really did a great job.
Looks amazing. The kife blank is on its way. Gregg and I are consulting on the handle wood.
That's the second part of the deal, I won a knife from Mike and he is going to use some of the material from the bow to make them match. Both Gregg and Mike are going all out on their donations.
