Ok I need some visual inspiration and ideas on wood combinations that are just too good looking to put into works. Any bow any combination doesn't matter just want to see them.

Limbs are curly walnut outer lams with bamboo cores. Riser is Jatoba (Brazilian cherry) with walnut and bamboo accents. The red, dark brown, and tan work really well together, and the curl in the limbs don't hurt it at all.

It's a Dryad Orion take-down.
There are some truly beautiful Black Tail risers, but i just couldn't see myself taking one out.
Those are some awesome looking bows.

God bless,
Can anyone tell me what bow this is? Stunning!
I'm going to guess that it is a Huntsman by a guy in Australia. Looks like wenge and black palm wood.
It was built by Trent Wengerd of Wengerd Archery...an amazing bow...coconut palm, wenge and red palm veneers...
God bless,
Yow some of these bows belong in an art gallery! I love nice wood but taking one of these into the woods would make me VERY nervous......

That riser is absolutely gorgeous!
There are sooo many beautiful wood riser bows. As huntryx mentioned,
"Yow some of these bows belong in an art gallery! I love nice wood but taking one of these into the woods would make me VERY nervous......".
I can echo that sentiment even though those beautiful works of archery art are also probably excellent tools for hunting and killing game animals.
So, yeah, with all these beautiful wood bows, I really cannot fathom the reason for choosing a metal riser... it just seem so 'sterile'.
That said, ironically enough, i prefer fiberglass/carbon resin stocks on my hunting rifles.... :dunno:

Man, I thought I'd seen it all, but that turquoise inlay is truly unique and beautiful!!!
Not the best picture quality, however this is a circa 1990 JD Berry Yaweh that was refinished by Jeff Massie (and trimmed a few pounds off) and he did with a leather strip grip. Too many woods to list, but at the time, James and Dan Berry were on the cutting edge of splicing wood and putting together limb inlays.

Wow! Hats off to you Brush!
A big part of the reason I like trad bows, and recurve style risers, wether long bow limbs or recurve, is the art in the wood work and the beauty of the woods used.
