Hey everyone!
Check out Episode 27 of The Push Podcast. We spent the evening hanging out with Ron LaClair!
In this episode we talk about Ron's history in the sport of hunting and competition. We also talk about the special Shrew Haven and listen to Ron recite a few of his famous poems as well as review Ron's approach to shooting a single string bow. This was a great episode with a true legend.
If this episode wasn't packed enough, we had Barry Wensel on for a special intro spot to "set the record straight" regarding his brother Gene's "lies" he told on his episode. It is really funny!

Thanks so much!
Outstanding!!
Loved it!
Sweeeeet!!!!
Great episode guys. Keep up the good work. Really enjoy the stories from guys like Ron, Barry, and Gene to name a few
It's worth it just to hear Ron recite the ghost of Armstrong creek! I've read it before but the way he rehearses it is fantastic. I felt like I was sitting around the campfire with him. The red of the podcast isn't too shabby either!
You guys are doing a great job. I have been listening to The Push on my morning hikes....very well done.
Roger, I thought you'd like this one!
Oh yeah....I'm thankful that Ron likes me, because he knows ALL of my airhead moments.
All I'm going to say is "click click"....Ron knows what that means :bigsmyl:
Roger, you're just a lights out kind of guy. :D
We wouldn't want you any other way. Best damn wood/water toter and dishwasher and fire tender a camp could ever want.
Another great podcast. Ron has good stories and it was good to hear Barry's rebuttal. I can't wait for the Gene and Barry cage match!!
Thanks everyone. Really enjoyed our time with Ron. True Icon.
It was great visiting with you guys, the hour and a half flew by. Like I said when you get me talking about bow's and arrows I could talk for hours. :)
I had a chance to talk to the kids at the Compton Rendezvous last weekend and it was a great experience. Like in my poem "The Legacy"..."teach a child to shoot a bow then watch the joy within them grow"
One of the questions you ask me in the interview was what was my thoughts on the future of traditional archery. Talking to those kids I could see Traditional Archery's future in their eager faces.... it was a wonderful reassuring feeling. :archer:

Thanks again Ron, and great post and pic!!!
I was able to listen today on a flight home. Ol' LaClair is like a good bourbon, he gets better with age. He's way too young to be my grandfather but that is how he has always struck me in all our dealings. Thankful for all the wisdom he has passed out, for me in "the shop", and for all of us here. Really well done by all involved.
Good podcast yet again...especially the back and forth between the "Ramblin Rednecks" (Gene and Barry). I have always liked pictures and stories of Ron Laclair and his mountain man persona in Michigan .... Other than mixing up terms of aerial shooting with flight shooting...was a great job. Keep up good work...
Great podcast!
Great podcasts! Keep up the good work!
I think ole Sledge will want rebuttal rights similar to Barry.
