Title: Brace height
Post by: TimDougan on May 29, 2017, 07:49:00 PM
I am playing around with my Northern Mist Superior. What brace height works well for those that shoot these bows. Thanks. TD.

What length?  Assuming your arrow is somewhere in the ballpark for weight and draw length, try somewhere between 6 5/8 and 6 3/4 and see what it does for you.

Bow is 66 inches long. 51# at 28inches. I draw 27 1/2 50 to 55 surewoods fly perfect. If i go much below 6 7/8 i get into my armguard pretty hard. I opened my stance some and it helped. Bow just feels better at 6 5/8 but bites my arm some. Thanks. TD.

I'd say you could go as high as 7 1/4 if it'll tune for you, but at your shorter draw you might lose a little oomph.  Stance helps, hunting archery you don't need to stand like an Oly shooter.  Little bend in your bow arm and a good armguard and you should have no sting.  Also make sure for good follow through and don't collapse or drop your arm on release.

Nine' gives good advice! Shoot what works for you.
It's your bow, shoot what works for you.

You can always adjust, just as nock height might be different, it is somewhat personal thing to your shooting style.

Enjoy your bow, have heard nothing but good stuff
about the Northern Mist bows!
