Which of the toelke line of longbows is the quietest? I'm sure the super D must take the pie, but for those who have shot or owned all of them (or one) which is quietest? I have a 29.5" draw length and I'm looking into getting a 64" whip but it isn't carved in stone... Yet.
Also is there a major difference in speed and hand shock between the super D and the rest?

Super D is the quietest longbow, but does have more handshock then the Whip. The whip is a little bit faster but the Super D is sneaky fast for a D bow. The Chinook is almost as quiet as the Super D if you go recurve.
All toelke's are super quiet!
I've had 13 of his longbows in different styles. Over the years I have settled on his 64" whip as my go to bow. Having said that, I have a 66" D bow that I enjoy very much.
I have a 29.5 draw like you.
The real difference for me is the Whip has a smoother draw especially as you approach anchor. I find that I have to drop down a couple lbs in weight with the D-bow to shoot comfortably compared to the Whip. There is a slight pulse at the shot with the D also but so slight it's really not worth mentioning. The D is very quiet but so are my Whips when they braced at the sweet spot, which seems to vary slightly from bow to bow, and shooting a 10gr or higher arrow. Both styles are plenty fast.
This is just my take and to fully find the answer to your question you should buy both and then decide. I say that because which ever you buy you will probably try the other at some point. :thumbsup:
I agree with all three assessments. The Whip is probably one of the finest mannered R/D bows you will ever shoot. Even if you buy a 64" built to a 28" draw, you will find it most likely won't stack till you are over 30" on the draw based on my experience having several different longer R/D style bows- same goes for the Super D.
The Super D is an outstanding D strung bow, especially since the limb profile was modified two years ago giving the tips just a touch more setback. The 68" version is the business! That is the bow of Dan and Jared's that I shoot. With my bugger of a left shoulder, that D bow gives me no discomfort.
Take into consideration the various grip styles as well. The Super D will easily fit into the palm of your hand - long, slender, and narrow where as the Whips are more substantial with a couple different profiles available.
I've had and shot several of Dan's bows and they are all fantastic. I had a super d and sold it to a buddy that likes that style of bow. They just aren't for me as I like a shorter bow. Love his chinook and I will have a shorter whip at some point as well. I draw around 28.5 but shoot lighter weights. Mostly 35-45#.
I have shot all except the super d. The quietest that I have is my pika. My 60" lynx is also very quiet. My whip is the loudest of the 5 Toelke longbows I have but it is still very quiet. My chinooks are also very quiet, especially compared to my other recurves
My 64" Lynx is the best performing, quietest longbow I have ever owned, including some that cost 2-3 X as much. I also have a Whip, but I prefer the additional mass in the riser of the Lynx. I don't usually shoot D shaped longbows.
For your drawlength I think a 66" would work better than a 64".
My experience with a number of whips, recurves and super ds from Dan is that they are all very quiet. I draw 29" and for awhile now have been shooting a 64", 66" and a new 68" super d. There is something magical about them to me. That said the last whip I owned was a 64" classic h.s, it was the best-mannered finest shooting bow I've ever shot. Why it sat while I picked up the super ds I don't know but there is something about them I really like. Concerning hand shock, it is non-existent to me with whips while my super ds have a very slight thump, more like a pulse. I shoot relatively heavy arrows, 11 1/2-12 to 1 and I seem to remember there was around 4-5 f.p.s between my last whips and the super d.
I have 3 of Dans bows, one is the Whip but I dont have a super D. I can tell you this though my whip has virtually no noisy , I cant imagine a bow being any quiter, dont think its possible..
My 64" inch whip is very quiet. I don think any bow could be quieter. I switched from split to 3 under and all I had to do was add a EFA Navajo strap on quiver and it is back to silent. It is tillered for split. I love that bow. I switched from split to three under and dropped 50 grains off my arrow point and didn't even change my nocking point. It is so forgiving. I love love love it.

As you well know...im totally in love with my 60" Whip HS. I too cannot imagine any bow being more quiet. Even standing 2 ft away when its fired it sounds like it's a LOT farther away because its so ridiculously quiet.Definately the most quiet bow I've ever shot. Hand shock is non existent or not noticeable.
I have nothing but glowing reviews for Dan and Jared. Customer service 11/10. Build quality 10/10. The bows are forgiving, quick enough, and super quiet. As an entire line of models they are among the quietest around that I've ever had the pleasure of shooting. For me the Chinook has always been the best balance of attributes, but the Super D is tops for the style bow that it is. Money well spent.
I've owned whips and Super D's. Whips are quiet but The D is tops. Shot a deer with the Super D standing with 2 others at 6 yards and the others didn't even know I had shot. It is that quiet. Performance wise 30 yards and in you really don't notice any difference. I like the grip on the D better too. My Super D is on my do not sell list! Just my opinion.
I've had 64" HS Whips # made for a 30" draw so you will be more than fine with a 64". Trust me.
I pull my 64" whip 32" and it is great.
I have shot a 62" Whip and a 64" Classic Whip. I draw 27" and ended up ordering the 62" Whip. I love both models. I have either owned or shot 70% of the major custom bows out there and I have to say that as far as performance and forgiveness goes, the Toelke Whip is at the very top of my list ! I really, really want to try the Chinook Recurve model soon
