Only a month away, same location as last year. It is shaping up to be another great shoot. Six ranges, all rinehart targets, novelty shoots, vendors, kitchen, free dinner Saturday night and a lot of great people. If anyone can be there Thursday morning to help set up targets it would be greatly appreciated. Also, getting there early will get you a better campsite and those that help set up get to start shooting Thursday evening. Registration info (pre registration makes it much easier on us) and a map can be found on the CTAS website, hope to see you there.

The wife and I are planning on making the trip this year.
Making my plans. Great event
BCY will be there with great deals on string and serving materials. Any suggestions on specific colors or materials are appreciated--will help us decide what to bring.
I'll be coming from Massachusetts. Really looking forward to meeting some new people and shooting.
I run the CTAS store and am in there probably 70% of the time (I do escape once in awhile to shoot) so stop in and say hi. It is always nice to meet tradgangers.
Just renewed membership and registered for the shoot on line - thanks for that option.
Awesome,awesome,awesome shoot!
What elevation is the shoot, and what would be a good place to use to get a similar weather forecast prior to the shoot? I want to make sure we are prepared.
The elevation is 9200'. Buford would probably be the most representative but it is lower elevation. Typically it is warm, mid-high 70s, but feels warmer. The sun is intense at higher elevations. Cool nights and mornings. I have seen frost in the morning but not normally. Can expect afternoon showers which cool things down. Bring sunscreen, bug spray and rain gear. Honestly temps can range from 30s to 80s. Usually it is comfortable and a nice break from the summer heat.
Thanks Kadbow!
This is a truly fine shoot! I was hoping to return, but my daughter is moving into her dorm that weekend to start college as a freshman. Have a big time guys!
Planning to be there!
Planning to be there. Looking forward to meeting more trad folk.
Anyone interested in carpooling? I'm coming from Oklahoma through Kansas most likely
Glad to see some new folks coming, you won't be disappointed.
My favorite shoot in the country, cannot wait to get back and see some old and new faces!
Farr West Leather is looking forward to being there this year!
Thanks,
Can't wait to get back to the CTAS High Country Shoot. This is the best 3D shoot in the country IMO. Last year I woke up Saturday morning to a herd of elk 80 yards from my tent. That's hard to beat. It'll be good to connect with some great trad folks again.
20 days away!
I'm not going to be able to make it this year and am truly disappointed. It's the best shoot I've ever attended and I am really going to miss it.
See you all next year!
I wanted to go to this bad, need to finally meet some other trad shooters. That said chasing Aoudad, Axis and hogs is as good a reason as any to miss it.
Someone asked me what the attendance is at this shoot. I couldn't remember what it was when we went. Anybody able to help?
Think it was right around 600 shooters last year.
Yes we had just over 600 shooters last year. Only about two weeks away.
It is cheaper to preregister.
Julie and I will be there
My flight is a week from tomorrow (Wednesday). Getting anxious!
Mat hope to see you and Julie there. Last year I camped across from the Ft. Collins contingent. We had a good time.
Getting close and getting busy. Setting the ranges this weekend.
Ranges are set, there is one completely new range this year and the others are modified, one significantly. There were some mosquitoes in the mornings and evenings so bring some bug spray. No fire ban as of now.
Can't wait!
Bring sunscreen too!
