Title: Fixed Crawl tuning question.
Post by: fireball31 on May 21, 2017, 04:05:00 PM
I am tinkering with a 25yd fixed crawl. When you guys are tuning your arrows for a fixed crawl do you rough tune your arrows before finding your crawl and fine tune arrow flight after, or do you fine tune before finding a crawl.

You'll def want to fine tune at the crawl. Your tune will change from split or 3-under compared to the crawl.

Thank you. Finally got around to watching your video and that is what inspired me to try it.

I've been shooting with a fixed crawl for the past year after watching the push video. I'm shooting more consistently now than I ever have in 30 years of shooting a trad bow.
Thanks Matt for taking the time to make the push. I'm sure it has helped a lot of other traditional shooters as well. I'll be using a fixed crawl in a couple of weeks when I go on bear quest 11 in Quebec.

What Matt said. Go to 25 yards. Shoot several arrows, both fletched and bare shafts. Once your arrows group together, you're in business.

Saw this video this week and decided to give it a try. So far, it looks promising. I did have to adjust the tiller on my ILF bow to reduce the noise and stabilize arrow flight. We will see how it works out.
