Title: Taipan or whip?
Post by: Pat Ct on May 06, 2017, 09:46:00 PM
I realize this might be a hard question to answer as both are different bows but I'm mainly looking for a comparison regarding noise and vibration, grip and craftsmanship i.e. fit, finish, wood options and gluelines especially as the riser fades into the limbs.

Also, could someone tell me what the wait time is for a JD Berry?

Both are great bows...workmanship on both is flawless. You will feel a little more at the shot with the Taipan. Both will make the grip the way you want, that said both standard grips feel very nice to me. Dan will get your bow to you in a few weeks and his whip is as silent as they come. You should check with James but I don't think he is making the Taipan anymore.

Had a Taipan that was a shooter. Lots of good reviews on whips. I think this will be a simple decision James doesn't make the the taipan anymore. I think you could add a liberty chief to your list. I second Leon Stewart, big jim buffalo, centaur, dwyer.

The Toelke Whip is a great bow-- very quiet and no vibration.  It has my highest recommendations!!

Whip is a great bow. Mine does have a little vibration that may could be tuned out. As for as noisy....none period..I mean none..
