Post by: nhbuck1 on May 06, 2017, 02:54:00 AM
Does anyone have zircote and black and white ebony riser pics? I'm getting this on my thunder child and wondered if any of you had pics to share.

Black and White Ebony is a very figured "busy" wood.  Ziricote or Macassar Ebony would look good with a B&W Ebony flare, or you might consider a wood that is very very dense but with uniform color like Leadwood or Lignum Vitae, both offer extra mass.  My Buffalo is a solid Leadwood riser with Osage limbs and it really pops.

This is my Leadwood riser.  Very dense and heavy.  Very fine grain and very dark chocolate brown in color.  Would look really neat with a B&W Ebony flare and limbs if you ask me.  Just an idea.  Ziricote is gorgeous stuff too.  Or Macassar like I said.  Jim has truck loads of Macassar on hand.

Personally, I like a very dark wood, like Gabon ebony, to match up with b&w ebony.

I agree with Pat above.  Dark wood fan here.  Especially paired with B&W ebony.
